Riva Rooms & Studios - Check-In 24hr

This is an exceptional hotel, with a view of Lake Maggiore, and five minutes' walk from a nice, quiet little beach where you can swim. It's a five minute drive from Locarno and its restaurants, so it doesn't matter that there is no breakfast at the hotel. Everything is high-tech: from the digital check-in to the lights that come on automatically when you step out of bed in the night, the electric blinds, and the quiet, efficient air conditioning. But there is also the human touch: Sebastian, the owner, was on hand to help oldies like me with the on-screen check-in, and was extremely kind and friendly, with all sorts of advice about places to see. The room was spacious, the bed big and very comfortable, the bathroom perfectly appointed. There were even free drinks in the fridge. There is plenty of very cheap parking nearby. This hotel is really luxury class and for the price is incredible value. I shall certainly make it my address in Locarno from now on.

everything was just great. the accomodation was very modern, nicely and decently furnished with nice mountain and lake view from the window. there was a shared area with coffee machine, cold drinks and sitting possibility. the personnel was helpful. the overall impression was great and the ticino ticket was a super benefit for moving around the region.

Check-in by myself is great idea. It was easy. We didn’t know where to park car and didn’t know rules for free parking. Thank you that you leave information on the table. Room has everything what you need for one night or longer period. Even small kitchen with all staff (olive oil, salt, pepper, everything). Thank you for smart TV. We enjoyed our Netflix. Bathroom is good and nice cosmetic. Everything is well organized. Thank you!

Great little place, very clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice. They even have their own rental cars.

Accommodation: #My experience The hotel (rooms/studios) has a high tech look and feel to it. From the moment of communicating with the staff to the check-in, everything is self service. Before arriving at the accommodation the staff will provide the possibility to check in ahead. I waited until is was at the accommodation to check myself in (felt like Qatar Airways). You gain access to the accommodation (and your own room) by uploading your access authorization to one of the cards placed on the counter. After finishing the check in process you have access. Once inside my room I noticed that the room had a nice sleek design to it. The bed was comfy and the pillows were good. The bar/desk has enough space to place you laptop, tablet, mobile and other accessories without being cramped. The bathroom is neatly designed and the hot water is instantly warm/hot. The view from the bar/desk was great, this is also the case from the bed (mountains). At the check-in counter all kinds of booklets, excursion and tour guides are at your disposal to explore Locarno and the rest of Ticino. #Facts Clean & sleek room design, comfy bed, good bar/desk, decent amount of wall outlets, high tech touch switches, sensor lamps, shield curtains, air-conditioning, mini fridge and a vault. Fresh fruit on the check-in counter everyday :-) Location/area: #My experience The accommodation is located on top of a BMW dealer. A bus stop is nearby in the street and there are quite some grocery stores located in the area such as Denner and Migros. Across the street there is a pizza place. There is a parking area in the street next to the accommodation (against the cemetery). Walking down this street leads to Lago Maggiore. At Lago Maggiore it is a 10 min walk to the boulevard/city center.
